I haven’t seen a GPU WU in a while but I have been getting 20k value WU’s on both 12 core slots which helps me at least not fall way way down. CMDR_Charixfox is killing it though getting those juicy high value WU’s!

My GPU was idle, and I rebooted twice and it picked up a job.

how does a GTX970 do on this? if I could figure out a way to point the client to use a GPU I might try it out. My 1070 is busy doing graphics stuff and I don’t want to move it around thanks to the watercooling stuff.

I’m not the guy to ask. Reach out to jminer. He’s a cryptocoin miner emeritus and highly knowledgeable and very helpful and perhaps the biggest F@h enthusiast on the board. There are certainly others, but he’d be a good one to start with.

A 970 should put down some decent numbers about 350k ppd according to the community.
Have you installed the client and it didn't see your GPU?

I don’t know how to check that. Right now it only has the one GPU (1070) and I had assumed if it was reserved as the primary graphics adapter nothing else (like folding) could use it. the GTX 970 is sitting on the shelf right now.

No if you install the software it will usually see your GTX 1070 without you having to do anything else. Y ou can even set the software to only use it while idle that way it doesn’t impact your computer use much. You can even let your GPU fold while you’re doing basic to moderate tasks (like browsing the web and watching youtube videos).

I’ve noticed a strange phenomenon. Since pulling the 1080 out of my pc and leaving only the 2070 Super, the remaining card is getting much larger work units. I was seeing about 130k-170k on the 2070 and 70-120k on the 1080 and now the 2070 is getting 230-270k WUs and when my kid isn’t playing games the 1080 I moved to his is getting 180-200k WUs.
Also, it’s WAY cooler upstairs with the Reconfigurations And only have the 2070 and 1089 going vs both this in my machine and him with an RX580. It hasn’t gotten over 70f up there (and no AC running) as opposed to 74 where the AC kicks on.
I thought I’d drop the lead since I lost 1 GPU full time and put another on part time but it’s ending up pretty even with before.

Up to 96k points! I ran it on the new PCs overnight, but it didn’t ever use the GPUs. Will try again tonight.

Hey, thanks for the note! We’ve been watching you. You probably saw my post about the rusty 1060 I received from the ebay seller. I also ordered a RX580 and it’ll be interesting to see if there’s any noticeable difference in performance. I am NOT a gamer AT ALL, so all of the Ryzenspeak and GPU envy is way outside my wheelhouse. I know we’re killin’ it on F@h!
Would you have any interest in a team T-shirt if I worked one up?

I’d leave it running. If it picks up a job and starts bogging down the machine, pause it and it’ll sit waiting until you let it rip again later.

To add a GPU into the client you can add a slot.
To do this right click the client in your taskbar and select ‘advanced control’
Then click ‘Configure’ in the top right - click the ‘slots’ tab
If you only see one row below for ‘CPU’ click ‘Add’ in the lower right.
Click the radio button for ‘GPU’ and click OK.
Click ‘Save’
You should now see two folding slots under the ‘folding slots’ section.
Probably a reboot now is a good idea and eventually you’ll download a job and start crunching it with your GPU.
You can also right click either of those slots and select ‘pause’ and it will stop working until you reboot or click ‘fold’ again.
